Wandom Wednesday: Yum, Run, Snap

Yum
My week started of great! My buddy Christine invited me over to make cakepops in her brand new beautiful kitchen. How can a girl pass that up? We talked, we rolled, we laughed.... it was balls of fun. (Jokes involving balls are hard not to make here.... oh man working at a Middle School is really starting to take it's toll)
Hooray for Cute Anthro Aprons!

We made cute chocolate and white chocolate ones!
And we wrapped 'em all purdy for ourselves....seriously, we didn't plan on giving them to a single soul. These were just for us. Seriously.
Run
Speaking of fat.... I signed up for my next race. I've been itching to do it since my last one.

It's on November 13th and I'm super excited for it! I hope this'll put that fire under my bum to stay motivated to run.

Snap
Speaking of lazy. Next month will be Hubs and my ONE year wedding anniversary. We are so excited! I really thought I wouldn't be that bride that puts making their wedding album off and off and off until...whoa.. a whole year passed by. Yup... I really thought that I wouldn't be. Shame on me because our wedding photographers are AMAZING!

Go check out their blog! EPblog.

I will finish my wedding album.
I will finish my race.
I will finish those balls.

Weekend Recap: Oktoberfest,DAH.

Zige Zage Zige Zage... HOY HOY HOY!

That cheer pretty much sums up my weekend. Fun was had by all. Saturday started off by Hubby going into work.... booo work. But that allowed me to get some things done in the house, like TV watching, and nap taking, which left the night free to go to the Happiest Place in Torrance, California.....
Alpine Village! The GREATEST German town in America. (And the only one I've ever been to.)
This awesome idea wasn't ours... it was actually my parents. They wanted to go to Oktoberfest and asked us to tag along.WHAT? My parents having fun and asking US  to tag along??? Was it backwards day and I forgot to turn my clock back? Thanks, Mom and Dad!

We started our evening o' fun perusing through the German Market. OH it was beauteous! I was like a fat German kid in a Gummi Bear store.
There was meat...glorious meat....and bonus... free FULL slice samples. And kids get full size brats! NO FAIR!

There was also beautiful desserts!

And aisles full of my childhood memories. FOOD! How I wasn't a fat kid is beyond me.
Gooomy candies!
because it's ALWAYS a good time for nutella!

Funny beer! Old man to beautiful lady! May you never make that mistake in real life.
We came out of that market with five bags of memories. Sweet and savory memories.
If you'd like to come for dinner just let me know. I will throw an extra bratwurst on the grill for you!

The fun did not stop there! After our shopping escapade, we headed over to the Oktoberfest tent!

Our buddies Irish and Jo!
Inside, we filled up on brats, potatoes, massive pretzels, and of course... some beer.
I bought a little souvenir to help get me more in the German festival kinda mood. Whaddya think?
I have an obsession with aprons... I just had to!
Oktoberfest was such a blast! Good friends and family....
(I love how all the parents are playing it safe with the CocaCola.)

Yet, even though my mom played it safe with the soda, somehow she still managed to get crazy enough to stick dollar bills into some German guy's pantalones. I don't know whether I should be embarrassed or proud!
I'll go with proud. We should go to Chipendales, mom. You'd like it there!
We had such a grand ol' time!

Zige Zage Zige Zage...HOY HOY HOY!

  • How was your weekend?
  • Have you ever been to an Oktoberfest celebration?

These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog barks, when the bee stings, when you're feeeeeeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad. #true story.

1. Back to my roots. As many of you know, I was born and spent a lot of my younger years in Germany. From time to time, I get a hankering for some juicy sausage. Get your mind out of the gutter. So I got us some Brats this week. My mom was so kind to buy us some German Ketchup and Red Cabbage. We paired it with some beers and I was back to my childhood.... minus the drinking beer of course.

2. Shut Eye. I haven't been sleeping well lately. Partly due to stress, partly due to the alarm clock light, and partly due to Pinterest. It also doesn't help that I sleep a lot earlier than my night owl of a husband. No matter how quietly he tries to get into bed, he disturbs me in my deep REM cycle. (BTW, did you hear that REM broke up? I didn't even know they were still a band!) And when that happens... let's just say I get a bit grouchy faced. So, to solve this dilemma, I bought a eye mask, which my hubby so affectionately calls, my face bra, and some ear plugs.

 3. Early morning workout. Today, I did the unthinkable. I actually woke up early enough to fit in a workout. ::le gasp:: I felt pretty darn good. Since I'm too chicken sh*t to go out in the early morning darkness to run, I opted for a AT&T U-verse workout video. I found this lady that I'm totally smitten with. She's not the type of video trainer that is too coo coo for coco puffs nor the type that wants to eat your soul ::cough:: Jillian ::cough:: She's super motivating and I want to save up money to hire her as my personal trainer. What do you think a trainer to the stars charges now a days?

4. Quotes that make me giggle. This is me in a nutshell. I don't allow my husband to tickle me. I will straight drop kick anyone who tries.

5. Beauty. I have the worst hand when it comes to eyeliner, specifically liquid eyeliner. But, by golly, I hit gold and found one that I LURVE!!! If you can't tell by my shotty picture, this is Loreal's Carbon Black Lineur Intense. The felt tip makes it glide on with ease.... for sheeze.

  • Any favs from your week?

Eureka! Weekend Recap.

I went to my high school reunion this weekend. It wasn't what I thought it would be, maybe because I had Romy and Michelle in my head on the way there.
Unfortunately, my expectations of seeing that weirdo from my class who is now a Multi-Millionaire, or seeing the former Ms. Popular now sporting kankles, was not met at all. I think this was partly due to the fact that only 30 out of the 400 students from my class actually showed. Talk about school spirit.
I still showed my school spirit! And I wore an embarrassing picture of my High School self. I haven't changed a bit, except my acne has finally subsided. THANK GOD!

But, I was still in good company and made the most out of it. I DID get to see some of my friends and that made up for it all. Oh and yes, there was a montage of pictures from good ol' 2001. I feel old because I don't remember taking any of those pictures. Here's another Mall Shot.
If you tell, I'm the dark shadow behind the white girl. See my teeth glistening in the light? My friend, Nicole and I had a good laugh at this one. Fast forward 10 years and my skin magically lightened.
It was so nice to catch up with old friends....

My cooking buddy Nolan! We were in Foods class together!

The Beautiful Bride to Be Crysal! So exciting!
I loved introducing everyone to my wonderful Hubby. So proud to flaunt this cutie pie!
On Sunday, my Kuya's friends from Washington came down. We had so much fun wine tasting...

San Antonio Winery

Taking this crazy Kookoo to the nearby "farm."
Watching him play in the water spouts....

The face of pure joy
And finally...Eureka!...burgers.

This place is truly LEGIT! The meat, the bread, the beer, the fries....all AMAZING!
Such a wonderful weekend of good food and friends! Love it when that happens!
